This inaugural release comprises a set of 6 Western Australian built icons selected to represent different categories of history, heritage and function. Institutions that have accepted invitations to participate are Government House (civics); New Norcia (religious faith); University of Western Australia (education); Perth General Post Office (civil service); Western Australian Cricket Association (sport/entertainment); and His Majesty's Theatre (culture).

The "Western Australian Heritage Icon Art Series" comprises:

  • Framed limited editions of 100 only off each of each of six paintings.
  • Artist's personal signature and numbering.
  • Information on historical aspects of the institutions and heritage aspects of the buildings or precincts.
  • Information on the commissioned artist, Irene Osborne Dip. F.A.
  • Institution crests (in some instances historical crests), and logos of the WA 175th Anniversary and the Year of the Built Environment.
  • High quality print production, the use of art gallery and archival framing materials, and assembly and inspection to exacting standards.

This project, conceived by "the r'tisan collection", has the approval and support of the Western Australian 175th Anniversary Celebration Committee and the Year of the Built Environment (WA) Committee, and the six participating institutions, with generous assistance from the National Trust of Australia (WA).
